Colourful Threads of Time: Identity, Memory & Belonging — Amrei C. Jarosch at Katara

ArtQart proudly celebrates one of its distinguished artists, Amrei C. Jarosch, as she unveils her solo exhibition “Colourful Threads of Time” at Katara Cultural Village — Building 47, Gallery 2. Opening on 15 October 2025 at 6:00 pm and running until 30 October 2025, the exhibition is open daily from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm.

Presented in collaboration with the Embassy of Austria in Doha and Katara Cultural Village Foundation, the exhibition marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Austria and Qatar. Through vibrant expression and deeply personal imagery, Jarosch explores the universal threads of identity, memory, and belonging that bind us all.

About the Artist: Amrei C. Jarosch

With over five decades of creative exploration, Amrei C. Jarosch stands as a seasoned artist whose work reflects a lifelong dialogue between tradition and innovation. Her artistic journey began in Austria, where she has exhibited across multiple cities since the late 1970s, captivating audiences with her evolving style and emotional depth.

Born into a family of artists, Jarosch’s heritage spans three generations of creativity. Her mother, Uta Jarosch (1937–2006), was a freelance artist and art restorer; her aunt, Prof. Mag. Art Elke Jarosch (1940–1993), taught at the University of Applied Arts Vienna; and her grandfather, Prof. Jorg Jarosch (1905–1980), was a renowned Viennese architect. This lineage has profoundly shaped her vision — one that blends emotion, structure, and soul into every brushstroke.

Her studies include the University of Applied Arts Vienna (1978–1979) and the Higher Graphical Federal Education and Research Institute Vienna (1980–1981), alongside private mentorship under her aunt Prof. Elke Jarosch, where she mastered Aquarell, oil painting, and texture design. From her early exhibitions in Vienna to large-scale projects like a 40-square-meter mosaic at Nanang Club Vienna, Amrei’s career reflects both artistic excellence and spiritual growth. Since 2024, she has extended her creative dialogue to Qatar through her cooperation with Overlap Doha.

The Exhibition: Threads That Bind

“Colourful Threads of Time” is a meditation on how identity and memory intertwine across generations. Through her signature use of color and texture, Jarosch visualizes the invisible ties that shape human connection — family, culture, and shared experience. Each thread, each hue, serves as a metaphor for continuity and transformation.

In one key work featured in the exhibition, a figure draped in serene shades of blue is surrounded by intertwining pastel lines — a delicate representation of belonging amidst movement and change. The piece resonates with both personal reflection and cultural dialogue, embodying the bridge between Austria and Qatar that this exhibition celebrates.
