An educator by profession and an autodidact by passion, Jaya Singh blurs the edges between structured, exploitation of instruction with the freeform, exploration of art. Having spent most of her life within the rule-bound and stoic halls of knowledge and those who seek it, Jaya Singh knows that erudition and true artistic expression can only be gleaned via the labours of first-hand experimentation and introspection.

Jaya Singh considers it her artistic duty to not only convey her artform via the traditional, but also transform and elevate the mundane everyday into the novel, thus revolutioning the way the audience interacts with - and considers - art.

Her studio is filled with unique experiments with texture-work, multimedia installations, and impressionistic ruminations, along with art splashed with the unique styles born of acrylic pour and manadalas (to name a few).

Her art is a visual experience that nonetheless communicates to her audience - landscapes and floral works speak of her lifelong fascination with vibrant and saturated colours.
