I am Janaka Kulasekera, a passionate artist whose journey in the world of art began amidst the rustic charm of the countryside. My love for nature and creative expression found its spark in childhood, thanks to my inspiring art teacher, Mrs. Thamara Damayanthi, who recognized and nurtured my talent during my school years.
An unforgettable milestone in my artistic journey was during my time at R/Udagama National College, Sri Lanka, where I participated in national and international painting competitions, earning accolades that fueled my passion. I also had the privilege of organizing group exhibitions during those formative years, laying the foundation for my artistic career.
After completing my A/Ls, I pursued a Fine Arts degree at the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka, where I honed my skills further. Over the years, I’ve explored diverse artistic realms, excelling in stage setting, design, and intricate carvings using materials like cement, wood, and even vegetables!
My professional path has taken me from roles at Carsons Cumberbatch in Colombo, to shaping young minds at institutions like St. Thomas College in Sri Lanka, Bright Future International School in Qatar, and R/Rassagala School in Balangoda. Currently, I am proud to be part of the TNG Schools community in Qatar, continuing to share my love for art and creativity with the next generation.
